第7回Immuno Therapy of Cancer Conference(ITOC)（2020年10月２日−３日）にてLifetime Achievement Award を受賞しまし、４０分の受賞講演をオンラインで行いました。
講演ビデオは以下のQSTのHPに公開されています。
本来は４月２－４日にドイツミュンヘンで開催される予定でしたが、新型コロナウイルス感染症のために１０月に延期されていました。さらに今回オンライン開催となりました。
授賞講演はあらかじめ録画してサイトにUPしたものを本日オンライン学会で公開されました。私もライブでオンライン参加してバーチャル授賞式と簡単な受賞挨拶をする予定でしが、ファイヤーウオールのためか原因不明ですが悪戦苦闘の末ライブ参加ができませんでした。それで急遽メールで挨拶文を送付して座長に代読してもらうというハプニングもありました。
IL-6発見から三十四年が経過してこのような賞をいただくのは感無量です。多くの共同研究者や家族への感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

It’s my great honor to receive the ITOC7 Lifetime Achivement Award.
I would like to thank all members of the prize committee and once again thank all my collaborators and my families.
At the time of the discovery of Interleukin 6 in 1986, no one knew that IL-6 is such an important cytokine. After 34 years, IL-6 is found to be one of key players in inflammation, autoimmunity and cancer, and its inhibitors are used as therapeutic agents for many diseases. It is also expected to be effective in the treatment of cytokine storm in COVID-19.
I am deeply moved to receive the Award at such times.
Shall we overcome cancer to open the happy future of humankind together with all of you.
